| This site was designed to share information on just how far they have come in the last 18 years in the treatment of MS. 18 years ago there were very few known treatments and researchers were working on their first treatment medication for final FDA approval. There are currently about 60 agents in the clinical trial stage. This site was designed not only to provide information but to provide support to people with MS as well as their families. You are not alone!!!!!! We regularly attend conferences surf the web and receive medical publications It is our hope you will find just about anything you are looking for from symptoms and treatments to a support network either here or thru the links to the left of this page. Who we are Shelley ( wearing blue on the right ) was diagnosed in 1989 with relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis ..She was given her test results over the phone The Doctor basically said that she had about 6 years left to be able to walk, she should find a good sitdown job with benefits and if she had any other questions to give him a call. This picture was taken in 2003 so her diagnosing Dr. was only half right.Shelley has MS but is still walking 18 years later. She has been on 2 of the 3 beta interferon medications. She is currently taking both copaxone as well as a steroid treatment once a month. She was on the final test study for the first treatment drug recognized by the FDA.( Beta interferon) She has also been thru chemo therapy (Cytoxin) treatment for her MS twice. She is currently taking Copaxone Jim (In the middle ) I am the website researcher, editor ,usual e-mail answerer, emotional support provider and the one who walks in the annual Chesapeake Bay MS Challenge Walks. This years 51k Walk is set for the Weekend of September 15-16,2007.
