This bracket and brake kit was developed to provide anyone who has ever pushed a wheelchair the peace of mind of having more control of the wheel chair when going down ramps, hills as well as more control when turning. It fits most standard wheelchairs such as those found at hospitals, nursing homes,malls and stores. Those such as Invacare, Everest &Jennings, Tuffy and Drive to name a few.

KIT CONTAINS: 
One (1) BrakeWell wheelchair breaking system bracket (left). 
One (1) BrakeWell wheelchair breaking system bracket (right). 
Two (2) brake kits (partially assembled)

TOOLS REQUIRED: 

Screwdriver (Phillips) 
Adjustable wrench 
Plyers 
Allen wrench (for some wheelchair brands) 

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (Click here for pictures of assembly process)
Step 1 - Remove middle two (2) screws from wheelchair back padding 
Step 2 - Put brackets on back of wheelchair (using original wheelchair screws). Be sure to place bracket ON TOP of vinyl backing 
Step 3 - Put brake caliper (pre assembled) into bracket fitting. Make sure you place ?over wheel?. 
Step 4 - Put brake handle on wheelchair handle. Note: You will adjust the brake handle to the desired ?grip? height/size later (let?s not get ahead of ourselves). 
Step 5 - Feed brake wire through small hole in endcap (see pic) 
Step 6 - Place wire anchor into top half of brake handle assembly and pull downward (through bottom half of handle assemble), slide endcap ?up? wire and into brake assembly. 
Step 7 - Thread cable cover over wire cable (be sure to keep silver cap of cable downward). 
Step 8 - Loosen (do NOT remove) ?brake tension set nut? on brake caliper to ?expose? small hole. 
Step 9 - Thread wire cable down through wire guide 
Step 10 - Thread wire cable down through hole into ?brake tension set nut? 
Step 11 - Squeeze brake pads together (with hand) against the tire and tighten ?brake tension set nut? . (NOTE: leave 1/4" space between pad and wheel to allow wheel to rotate). 
Step 12 - place small silver wire cap on end of brake cable and crimp. (Note: This prevents the cable from inadvertently coming loose.) 
Step 13 - adjust/fine tune brakes based on wheelchair manufacturer 
Step 14 - repeat process on other wheel
